Bill has had a varied and distinguished career since earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1977 from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock School of Law, where he was on Law Review and graduated with honors. Since then, Bill has been a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Little Rock, prosecuting a wide range of state felonies and misdemeanors and an Assistant United States Attorney (federal prosecutor) here in Springfield, prosecuting major federal crimes.
Concurrently, Bill was an instructor in law and business at the University of Arkansas – Little Rock for several years, where he also frequently served as a Special Municipal Judge. In private practice, Bill has a wealth of experience in estate planning, criminal defense and civil litigation in city, state, and federal courts in both Missouri and Arkansas.
Bill earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in Management, and a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Business from SMSU, now Missouri State University.

Bill was born in 1949 and grew up in the St. Louis area. He and his family have been back in Greene County, Missouri since 1989. Bill’s wife is an operating room nurse, his son is an anesthesiologist and his daughter is a research biologist.
The Crowe family has been in Missouri since the 1790’s and has a long tradition of public service. His great, great, great grandfather, M.L.G. Crowe, was Franklin County Assessor, County Judge, and County Clerk in the mid 1800’s and his son, Bill’s great, great grandfather, John T. Crowe, was a Captain in the 26th Missouri Infantry in the Civil War and later served as Franklin County Sheriff, Judge, and State Representative in the middle and late 1800’s.
Bill’s fourth great grandfather, George Frederick Bollinger, also settled Missouri in the late 1790’s and was later a Lt Col in the Territorial Militia, President Pro Tem of the Missouri Senate, and 1 of 17 senators who drafted the state constitution. He was a presidential elector for the Andrew Jackson ticket (1836). Fredericktown (Madison Co.), formed in 1818, was named for him, as was Bollinger County, formed in 1851.
Bill is an active vocalist and musician. He and his wife enjoy hunting, UTV riding, RVing and international travel.
